Further to Melano – milan 2

Following my first post about Milan’s design week ( https://www.studio-rdd.com/posts/leading-exhibitions-milan-2017/) in which I promised you I will share my personal experience, I am forced to keep my promises …
Though I write these lines with great embarrassment because it’s hard for me to write about myself, the purpose of this post Is to make young designers like me to know and believe that you can do great things in this world without the help of external factors and without a big name to promote you. It`s simple, hard work always pays off!

I’ll start with a brief introduction:
my name is Ilana Salzenav, I am 31 years old, I have my loving spouse,a beautiful dog and no specific favorite color 😊

I have a bachelor’s degree in product design, a master’s degree in marketing and now I am (still) learning methodical thinking- one might even call it “the math of design”. What started out as a personal matter and love for the subject, became a profession and four years ago I started my baby- Studio RDD.

My love story with Milan started a few years ago.
every designer in the world knows it as a design capital and one of the biggest places for annual inspiration. Personally, I’m in love with the city, the Italians, their own style and the emphasis on the small details. I live for it all!
My life`s dream was to take part in an exhibit there and be an actual part of the Milan Design Week.

And then, one glorious day my dream came true! last year I got this wonderful chance to show of my products, and as I always claimed- the sky is not the limit 😊
An Italian company called DiY approached me and offered to take place in the exhibition with one of my products (all expenses paid by them, of course). I have no idea how they found my details, but I think the Internet helped me this time… networking to the rescue!
They thought my products were suitable for their exhibition, so things went awesome. taking part in this thought-provoking frenzy drove me crazy! yep, I mean being one of 60 designers in the world who were approached.
We worked a lot and we`re visited by nearly 150,000 people (as I already told you, I love big exhibitions – https://www.studio-rdd.com/posts/leading-exhibitions-and-the-latests-trends-around-the-globe -part-one /) it was very intense, intrusive, tiring, exciting and satisfying. here are some photos of my “babies” during the exhibit, so that you will understand the sensations …
And after all , maybe this year I’ll make another appearance in Milan. Follow me online, it will be full of intriguing things to see 😊
